The Mickey & Friends music series has returned with a new album — this time, with southern twang. After the successful pop-punk album, A Whole New Sound, Disney is releasing Main Street Country this spring. From Walt Disney Records, this new country EP features five reimagined Disney classics sung by country music stars.
The new EP includes a few favorites from Disney Channel Original Movies. Nostalgia is perfectly bottled in Dasha’s cover of “She’s So Gone” from Lemonade Mouth, while Restless Road’s fresh rendition of “The Climb” by Miley Cyrus captures the original’s emotion through new harmonies.
If songs from animated films are more popular in your house, you’re in luck. Kids can experience the magic of Tarzan in a new way with Maddie & Tae’s cover of “You’ll Be in My Heart.” Trading the mysterious rose for a guitar, musicians Kane Brown and Katelyn Brown share a ballad of “Beauty and the Beast” from the iconic animated film.
In the EP’s finale, BRELAND sings the empowering classic, “Go the Distance,” from Hercules. Complete with a live string section, this reimagining reminds kids that they can achieve the impossible.
Main Street Country will be available April 3 on Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, and other streaming services. Until then, kids — and kidults who could use a bit of country nostalgia — can saddle up and presave the EP now or preorder the exclusive vinyl from Disney Music Emporium.
