WHAT IT IS
Designed for kids ages 4 and up, Mooki Island by Scorpion Masqué is a deck-building card game where kids collect creatures called Mookis. To start the game, players split the deck of 36 double-sided cards into two decks. In each round, players build their deck by choosing one of the cards in the piles or sabotaging another player’s pile by adding a spider to their deck. At the end of the game, the players who collect the most of a specific type of Mooki receive a trophy, with each trophy having a different star value. The player with the most spiders in their pile must surrender one of their trophies. The player with the most stars at the end of the game wins!
WHY WE LOVE IT
Mooki Island takes around 10 minutes to play, making it a fun afternoon activity or a game before bed. The artwork on the cards is also gorgeous, making it hard to decide which Mookis to collect at times. At the end of the game, players get to unfurl the included poster and name Mookis, which builds lasting memories while playing. Also, the trophies players compete to win are displayed using a stand that is built into the box, which adds a layer of creativity to the packaging.
IMPORTANT THINGS TO KNOW
Mooki Island is designed for kids ages 4 and up, but some little ones may need help counting all of their cards at the end of the game.
PERFECT FOR
